 Hello Dr. Rezaian,

We would both like to thank you for the laser back surgery it is true
miracle. Terry is doing well I can't keep up with him. He has been on
the go everyday and now he walks ahead of me instead of falling behind
me. I have enclosed a letter to show to your patients.

Thank you,
Gail & Terry Wirtz

Grateful for Dr. Rezaian's good treatment and guidance

In June 2009 I began to have excruciating pain in my lower back and all the way down to my left foot due to lumbar disc herniation L5-S1. I was seeing doctor after doctor here in Hamburg, Germany. I underwent three periradicular injections, rehabilitation sports and loads of pain medication with no relief.

Finally, in February 2010 I was told by my neurosurgeon that back surgery would be inevitable! Fortunately, I had to do some journalistic work in Orange County, CA, first. So I decided to search for alternatives and started spinal decompression therapy by tractions, which showed good results.

During my last week in Orange County, I heard of the California Orthopedic Medical Clinic where I met with Dr. Rezaian, a highly recognized spine surgeon. I told him that I had done tractions lately and asked him whether laser disectomy could be a possible means to avoid surgery. Even though I got an affirmative answer, Dr. Rezaian came to the conclusion that in my case treatment would be much easier!

First, Dr. Rezaian changed my medication completely. Besides, he showed me no more than three physical exercises, which I should practice at least twenty times each in the morning as well as in the evening. Never had I expected the treatment to succeed – but it worked out! Actually, recent neurological control in Germany from April 28, 2010, confirmed the improvement! It reads as follows: "Zur Zeit kein interventioneller Handlungsbedarf (= At the time no need for interventional actions)."

Today, lumboischialgia has relieved and I am living without pain again. I am very pleased with my outcome and grateful for such a good treatment and guidance!

Dr. Rezaian - thank you so much!

Lumbar Discectomy Surgery

The vertebrae of the spine are separated by soft, cushiony tissue, known as discs, which provide flexibility for our spines and allow us to bend our bodies and perform physical movements that are essential for day to day function. It is fairly common for problems to occur with these discs over time as we age, and also as a result of over-straining the discs from heavy lifting or falling. When a disc is over-stressed or over-worked, it can burst, and the jelly-like center within the disc can protrude outwards, agitating spinal nerves and causing crippling pain. People with herniated discs find simple movement to be painful and have limited mobility as a result. Lumbar discectomy surgery is a procedure that treats a bulging, herniated, or slipped disc by removing portions of the center of the disc (nucleus pulposus) that has ruptured.

By removing pieces of ruptured nucleus pulposus through lumbar discectomy surgery, the discomfort caused by spinal nerve agitation is minimized. Dr. Rezaian is the medical director for the California Orthopedic Clinic and has over three decades of experience in performing sensitive back surgeries. His specialty is endoscopic spine surgery, which involves the use of subcutaneous tools and cameras to perform surgery with increased speed, precision, and effectiveness. Please call the California Orthopedic Clinic and schedule an appointment to see if you’re a candidate for the endoscopic lumbar discectomy surgery method.
